Here is a post of interest for those wondering about how LEPs will work. The government is making the right noises, but the big questions is surely how the funding will be made available and to whom?
I recently applied for funding for growth projects for a number of clients in Kirklees, Yorkshire. The money comes from vouchers aimed at innovative projects leading to job creation or safeguarding. The surprising thing (or not) is that I have already heard the scheme was poorly subscribed because businesses did not know about it. Good news for our clients, but a sad indication of the disconnect between funding and the business owners who need it.
If LEPs can do one thing, it must be to stop this happening in future.
